Long Day 06:56
The shattered sun is shining still upon a road untraveled confusion biting at your heel a destiny unravels the morning prayers are echoes beneath a sky bedazzled. you're starry eyed and stuck in time the traffic drags you under your mystery entwines with mine and tears our dreams asunder. gonna hold on and don't stop holding til the end, all of this time and all I needed was a friend. Long days falling down like water down the side of the pyramid. They fall like the silk of the dress that you were dancing in. They ring like bells of fire that are glistening in the eye. We ring like bells of fire that are glistening in the eye. Long Day... ©2019 Ambush Hymnal

Madeline 02:50
Don't want your burden don't want your battle don't want another hour on your stage. Don't want your rage Don't want the way you tore me down But I still want you Madeline There's no accounting for the state I'm in I'd be insane to let you in again I'd have to be a fool But I still do. I took your backroad straight to disaster I gave you hell when you burned me down I'm still your bum I'm still your bastard I'm still that kid from the other town. We carve our lonely faces into worlds of stone. Looking for love to venerate our holy bones, I let you near So you could tell me that there's nothing here You can't attack me if I show no fear But fearing's all I do. Sometimes it's better if you don't get what you wanted. Sometimes it's better if you fall apart Sometimes it's better if you stay a little broken. Sometimes it's better. We put our masks up on each other Playing the roles that we don't ever tell Living in corners of the world that we've hidden from ourselves. That's how i found you Madeline You know that I've forgiven every sin I'd be insane to let you in again. Such a fool. ©2019 Ambush Hymnal/Fountain Penn

Burnsey 06:27
The moon is low on the river's edge Sinking slow to come around again. My brother sits his tired body down. The air so thin it doesn't make a sound. The diamond and the lightning trace their names across the valley as they hurtle. Everything you want to see is waiting at the center of the circle. Whispered names among the trees are answered by the flowers in the field. The eagle and iguana trading faces with the devil and the hero. Lying with his back against the cold stone he stretched his hands out towards a singular shaft of clear light. He stretched his hands out..Out...Out so far that his bones broke the surly bonds of his own skin. Out, out...caressing the sky with ivory fingers shimmering like the horns of a beast. Bathed in the milk of the moon..out..out..Tearing the firmament..Terra Firma.. Far behind him..All the way out..past the tired heat of suns...of Mother Gravity..His father's belt..Shafted..Shattered like Orion...Out..Out...Into the darkness..Cool in the embrace of a heart always trusted..Never betrayed... ©2019 Ambush Hymnal

about

Produced by Grey Revell and Rob Tavaglione for Astrozero Music, Ltd.

Recorded by Rob Tavaglione at Catalyst Recording, Charlotte NC, September and October of 2019.

This single is dedicated to my good friend John Burns, poet, bassist, and an ally of many great bands and artists. John was not able to participate in the making of this single like we had wanted him to, but his spirit was all through the writing and recording process. "Burnsey" is of course, written for him. Mad love, John. - G.
