Balloons 01:37
I sent balloons up through the skylight Changing channels till the suns first light Out on the fringes of a Concorde flight Tomorrow's gonna be a warm day I wasn't doing that much anyway Big jet come screaming down the runway takes away the things you'd think it'd never take away
2.
You're stumbling in the dark Fumbling for your lighter down in Baldwin Park Somewhere you lost the spark Swimming with the Devil and the Great White Shark I'm not about to give all my gold to just any bandolero Everybody's sorry about something Everybody keeps inside Everybody wants to discover what everybody's trying to hide All the things that tear you up and break you down Get you when you step out the door Everybody's sorry about something Baby tell me what you sorry for You take a westbound train You got a lot of people running through your brain You left your house in chains I don't think you're ever going back again Who you gonna tell about the big bad world? You know the world it never listens.. Everybody's sorry about something Everybody keeps way down Everybody wants to uncover whatever is hiding under the ground All the things that tear you up and break your heart Must amount to something somehow Everybody's sorry about something Baby tell me what you sorry about Everybody's sorry about something Everybody's putting you on Your family your friends and your lovers They jerk you round they think that it's fun The day I take a step out of my dirty old tomb They'll hang me somewhere outside of town Everybody's sorry about something Baby tell me aren't you sorry now?

I Love The Way You Hold My Head I love the way you move Show me through the summer morning No need to try and prove you love me more for wanting I love the way you smile you drive my car off the bridge at dawn Steve McQueen you're crazy for it all day long I Love The Way You Hold My Head O baby you are such a thing Dancing with your feet of fire Throw me the diamond I throw you the whip You hear me cryin Spin me through the air Please show me to the park I don't need no Sunday morning slowing me down I Love The Way You Hold My Head I love the way you move Slow me through the summer morning No need to try and prove you love me more for wanting I love the way you smile you drive my car off the bridge at dawn Steve McQueen you're crazy for it all day long I Love The Way You Hold My Head And you ain't got no regrets and you never need a reason...

And now the girl she don't matter much more The girl don't matter much anymore She used to be the monkey that was scratching at the door The girl don't matter much more Her love's as skinny as your cigarette Now she can't remember what you've wanted to forget The road is getting darker and your thoughts are darker yet The girl don't matter much more And now the girl she don't matter much more The girl don't matter much anymore The things that made you dizzy left you lying on the floor The girl don't matter much anymore Out on the street is where you make your bed A thousand men will never claim what you regret But everybody's got their harpy riding in the back The girl don't matter much more She'll leave your door unlocked Unto the crow of the cock Sure as her voodoo is by Devil designed She'll play a mean mean game She drives her man insane Sure as the Buddha on the wall is apt to testify the passing of time And now the girl she don't matter much more The girl don't matter much anymore You haven't got the energy to even up the score The girl don't matter much anymore The things that make you dizzy left you lying on the floor - The girl don't matter much..

Yesterday is just a bubble That you and me we live inside You only ask for trouble When you sneak around the other side Watch the sun come up this morning Big winky shiny ball of fire Cuts the cloud without a warning It's gone again without even trying Let me have this one to borrow It's all gonna go down anyway and I won't use this one tomorrow The way I used my yesterdays When I get tired I drive in circles When I get tired I sit and wait When I get tired I stare at nothing All my loving turns to hate Let me have this one to borrow It's all gonna go down anyway And i won't use this one tomorrow The way I used up yesterday Give me all the joy and sorrow Give me more than I can take I won't use this one tomorrow The way I used my yesterday The way I used up yesterday...

A lovely night is ending I shot my guns and now they'll drag me under The rules aren't made for bending It's like they're written in the Book of Numbers You think the rules are changing I think it's always just the same old story All the old and the strange things Shift the honor and the power and the glory And it's a good blue morning The winds are bitter coming off the water Whistling through the awning Sometimes I wonder how you even bother Trying to find your old friend When all the kids they wanna grow in such a hurry Some sell out their best friend For just a trickle of the power and the glory You've been standing Cast in shadows I've been waiting in the middle You'll be waiting for redemption I'll be licking stained glass windows I've been wired and wasted I eat my honey while hanging from the rafters I've been tried and tasted I break my bread with such malicious bastards Through each and every impasse We'll say it's just another chapter in the story Of the boys who lick glass To touch the Honor and the Power and the Glory

You're an engine that never dies You'd rather break down than hide You never let them see you cry You're never afraid to try You got me by the feet Drag me through the street You break me like the summer heat You shade me like a willow tree The Devil's Boots Don't Creak And men possessed don't speak I'll never let you know just what you do to me I never wanna see The things I don't wanna see The way that it's gonna be You're always in front of me I'm a study in atrophy A mess of catastrophe Dressed in calamity You're always in back of me The Devil's Boots Don't Creak And men possessed don't speak I'll never let you know Just what you do to me Last night I had a dream I broke into three of me We were screaming like monkey man Climbing round the willow tree

I could let you in my garden I could let you in my dreams I could give you all you wanted But I am not a vending machine for my heart All my bad memories Run round round sweet honeybees Black Trees, White Cemeteries Around my knees, just like little animals Little animals running through the basement Little animals crashing on the floor Little animals running down the pavement Little animals waiting by the door I could lead a horse to water I could be the bigger man I could love you like no other and then I'd have to be someone else And I can't All my sad memories Termites in the money tree Holy Saint Anthony Can't you see all my little animals? Little animals sitting on the bedpost Little animals scratching at my nose Little animals hiding behind the lamppost Little animals biting at my toes Little animals running through the basement Little animals crashing on my floor Little animals running down the pavement Little animals crashing through the door All my bad memories Around my knees just like Little Animals So come down fly down and hide me I'll be the clown you could be my trampoline Fly down lie down beside me If you be my Jesus I could be your Magdalene

I don't care if the stars don't shine If they don't shine for me that's fine I don't care if the sun won't rise I don't care if i go blind I've gone blind a thousand times I don't care baby I don't mind You're coming on like summer in a no man's land won't you shimmy over baby, I'm your man What's the hurry I feel fine Sit beside me one more time If you find a better guy just redesign me The tracks are froze the gates are locked Cold eyes walking down the block The snow comes down around the clock So put me on the happy wagon when you can Send me through the fire and the shifting sand What's the hurry I feel fine Sit beside me one more time If you find a better guy just redesign me one more time I've been told I waste my time I don't know how much time is mine but I got friends and cheap red wine. Sit beside me one more time.

It was never the plan to just up and leave You know I've tried to understand Now it's out of my hands And the months just creep Now I'm just another man And they're calling the names on the local station Praying for the marching man Come the fall, I will remember you Though I'll be gone November Come May I still remember you In your dress on the porch waiting for the morning With your flowers in your hand In the shoes that we bought Waiting for the marching band Come the fall, I will remember you Though I'll be gone December Come May I still remember you Come the fall, I will remember you Though I'll be gone September Come May I still remember you It was never the plan to just up and leave You know I've tried to understand Come the fall, I will remember you And If I'll be gone forever I'd still remember..

There might be misunderstanding When your plane is slow in landing A friend of a friend is always willing to bend If he don't come off empty handed Little red lights flickering over and on again Didn't mean to take you 'round the world O my mama can't you cut me loose Woke up in New Orleans with the L.A. Blues Hawaii's the place where Jimi went into space And drove his volcano to the center of the Milky Way What more do you have to say? Didn't mean to take you 'round the world A smile is not an invitation to dance But everybody takes the chance I bet your friend won't even miss me Gone so fast it makes you dizzy If a sinner's just a swimmer in the face of the tide And a saint is just a sinner with god on his side How'd we get so cold inside? Didn't mean to take you 'round the world Little red lights flickering over and on again...

Love goes through the modern world That's a rule that I ain't ever heard And the very world that makes the rule played me out to be a fish eyed fool So who's to say that the world ain't flat? And ships don't fall at the edge of the map? And who's to say that the stars ain't cracks? Shining down a light from heavens lamp? I ain't one for linear thought The less I give then the more I got And the very same sky you said was blue Said that I'm no good for you So who's to say that the house ain't spooked? A warm wind blows in an empty room And who's to say that the woods ain't full Of gimps and ghosts and jackaloos? My baby, my mama, my sister, my lover Why do we fall on each other? The rooms on fire, it makes you wonder Who's the hand that drags you under? Common sense, I had a hit Sit awhile and we'll talk a bit And the very same moon that rolls the sea Will send you rolling back to me Who's to say that I won't a-rise Two days after I've been crucified? Who's to say that your eyes won't lie? Not I

When you're laying down at night And the moon is shining bright Keep the angels and the devils always there And all the things inside that come creeping out at night Are things that someone else was scared to share When you're walking through the park And it's getting close to dark And the black cloud overhead has blocked the sun Just remember that you're never someone special or alone The sun goes out on almost everyone Things aren't all what they seem to be They're just something that was written down in dreams They're for you to keep inside and remember every night That's the way that things pretend to be When you're lazy and in love And the stars spill from above And you get the feeling that's it's gonna end Just remember that the shadow at your feet ain't Always bad There will be days when it'll be your only friend Things aren't all what they seem to be They're just something that was written down in dreams They're for you to keep inside and remember when you hide That's the way that things pretend to be Things aren't all what they seem to be There's something that was written down for dreams They're for you to keep inside and remember tonight That's the way that things pretend to be
